FUTSAL

As per FA guidelines all futsal sessions are still suspended.

FUTSAL is a fun and exciting alternative to Football played indoors with a heavier ball with less bounce. The fun, fast paced sport gives children the chance to learn and develop their football knowledge, whilst working on their technical skills. The speed of play is much quicker which helps trigger and utilise their decision making and awareness skills. Both sports go hand in hand and ultimately gives children a great platform for playing our ‘national game’.

BALL TOUCHES/CONTROL - In a statistical study comparing futsal to indoor football with walls, players touch the ball 210% more often. With limited space and constant pressure, improved control and technique are required.
SPEED OF PLAY/DECISION MAKING - with the above factors and a 4 second restart rule, players are required to play and think faster.
MANDATORY SUPPORT - with no walls players have to learn to make supporting runs.
CONTINUITY - the game is played to a stop clock so the action is continuous, players are forced to play instead of watching.
KNOWLEDGE - with only four players on the pitch, and all the same options of the outdoor game, the non stop play gives players a better understanding of the game.
IMPROVED SHOOTING - played on a smaller pitch with smaller goals, players have to learn to shoot more accurately as goalkeepers are able to narrow down angles quicker.
ENCOURAGED LEARNING - as a skilled sport all physical contact fouls are punished.
FUN - most importantly players enjoy the fun paced game which tests their ability.
